Intercessory Prayer Team
Are you an intercessor? Would you be interested in becoming part of the intercessory prayer team for Gentle Care Ministry? Prayer is central to what we do in Gentle Care Ministry, and those who pray behind the scenes are ministering in a crucial and essential way, as this supports those who are doing ministry and those who are receiving ministry, as they are lifted up to God in prayer. Intercessory prayer is key to victory in the spiritual battle we are engaged in, for people to walk free in Christ.
The qualifications for intercessors on the intercessory prayer team are as follows:
-
Must be a born again Christian, who regularly studies the Word of God, is actively growing in the Lord and letting the Holy Spirit transform your life.
-
Must be a person of prayer.
-
Must be in fellowship with other true believers in Christ, and accountable to spiritual leadership.
Please fill out the application below if you would like to join the Gentle Care Intercessory Prayer Team, and someone will contact you.
Prayer Ministry Team
Are you interested in ministering to others through prayer? We welcome new people to join our prayer ministry team. There is a process that each prayer minister/facilitator goes through to join the Gentle Care Prayer Ministry team, regardless of level of previous training or experience.
First of all, everyone starts with becoming a prayer support person, or an intercessor, before they begin praying directly with ministry participants. Please fill out the form above if you are interested in this. Starting with this emphasizes the high importance we place on prayer and intercession in this ministry, as we are seeking God first in how we are proceeding, throughout the entire process.
Secondly, we expect each prayer minister/facilitator to receive some training in prayer ministry. If you have had previous prayer ministry training and experience, that is great, but we ask that you attend some Gentle Care Prayer Ministry training sessions, so that we can get to know each other and how to minister together. If you do not have previous prayer ministry training and experience, that is ok too, as Gentle Care Prayer Ministry training can help equip you for this ministry. We have practice times also, when we put into action what we have learned in prayer ministry training, as we pray for and with each other.
Thirdly, each prayer minister/facilitator is expected to sit in on some prayer ministry sessions as a prayer support person, with an experienced prayer minister/facilitator, before taking the lead in prayer ministry sessions. This allows facilitators to be mentored as they gain confidence in doing prayer ministry, and to grow into being ready and able to take the lead in such ministry.
Fourthly, when a prayer minister/facilitator is ready to take the lead in prayer ministry sessions, they begin to do this, with one to two prayer support people in attendance. Often, when a new prayer minister/facilitator begins to take the lead, a more experienced prayer minister/facilitator will be in attendance as a prayer support person, for extra encouragement as needed. When a prayer minister/facilitator has gained some experience in taking the lead in prayer ministry sessions, they may also choose to learn how to train others in this ministry as well.
If you are interested in training to become a prayer minister/facilitator, please contact us and keep an eye on the calendar for upcoming training times.
